Factory or Sourcing Agent? Mlissia and ZOMO for Furnishing an Entire Home
A direct comparison of a furniture-manufacturer relationship with a multi-factory sourcing desk, including fees, transparency and accountability.
Talk to Mlissia when a defined furniture range fits the home and you want direct product specifications. Talk to ZOMO when the order spans unrelated factories and you need China-side coordination. Compare total cost and the person responsible for defects, not only the number of suppliers involved.
Two useful models, two different contracts
When a buyer asks for one Chinese supplier to furnish an entire home, a factory and a sourcing desk can both respond “yes” while selling different work. A manufacturer may make its own core products and coordinate some partners. A sourcing agent may select several factories and manage the process without claiming to make the goods. The buyer should know which model is on the invoice before treating their offers as substitutes.
Mlissia Casa describes itself as a Foshan furniture manufacturer serving residential customers, designers, retailers and projects. ZOMO explicitly says it is not a single furniture shop: it proposes supplier matching, quotation organization, production follow-up, visible pre-shipment checks and shipping coordination. George Group Furniture illustrates a third model with a broader group and interior-products scope. None of those descriptions prove that every item shown is made by the same company.
How to choose the direct route
If the most important products are sofas, bed frames, dining furniture and matching pieces, request Mlissia's exact manufacturing scope. A direct relationship can make sample approvals and changes simpler when the supplier actually controls production. Ask for a product drawing, material reference, factory of origin, named quality contact, production checkpoints and a warranty document. If the company sources other items to complete the home, mark them separately and ask who stands behind them.
Direct sourcing is less attractive if your list also includes lighting, bathroom equipment, stone, curtains, cabinetry and installation. One furniture factory may reasonably decline those items. Do not treat that honest boundary as a weakness; you can split the job and coordinate it yourself or hire a coordinator.
What you are paying an agent to do
ZOMO's stated service is decision and execution control across a supplier network. A good sourcing proposal should save buyer time by narrowing options, documenting comparisons, following orders and consolidating evidence. To judge value, ask the agent to name factories, explain whether it receives commissions, show how it reports inspection findings and clarify whether payments go to the agent or directly to factories. Agree who owns samples and documents after the project closes.
| Decision | Manufacturer-led route | Sourcing-desk route |
|---|---|---|
| Product ownership | Ask which goods are actually manufactured by the seller | Ask for the identified producing factory on each line |
| Commercial payment | Product price plus separately stated services | Factory cost, service fee and any commission disclosures |
| Quality control | Factory's internal checks plus optional independent inspection | Agent's visible checks plus optional independent inspection |
| Failure response | Contracting seller should state the remedy | Contract must identify seller, agent and remedy owner |
ZOMO says customs clearance, duties, local delivery, installation and laboratory testing are separate unless agreed. Treat that as a prompt to draw the entire destination-side chain. An agent's on-site visual check is not the same as testing fabric durability, fire compliance or electrical safety for your country.
A hybrid can be sensible
You can source the anchor sofa and bedroom set directly from Mlissia and appoint an independent party to inspect or consolidate the shipment. Or you can ask an agent to include Mlissia in a multi-factory shortlist, provided pricing and responsibilities remain transparent. The hybrid is only useful when it does not create an argument about who pays for damage, delay or a wrong specification.
The same written bill of materials should travel through both proposals. Compare all-in spend including agent fee, production changes, consolidation, freight handover and dispute handling. Also compare the effort you must supply: approving samples, translating instructions, chasing updates and managing a missing item can have a real cost even when no separate invoice names it.
Recommendation
Choose Mlissia as the primary interview for a furniture-led package that fits its documented range. Choose an agent such as ZOMO when your schedule plainly needs several different factories or hands-on local coordination. Before paying either, identify the manufacturer, contracting seller and claim owner for every important line. That ownership map is worth more than a “one-stop” label.
