How to Compare Chinese Whole-Home Furniture Quotes Without Misreading the Price

A like-for-like quotation method for Mlissia and other suppliers, covering product specification, logistics, tax, installation and claims.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Ask Mlissia, George and any sourcing service to price the same item schedule, finish standard and delivery scope. Do not compare one ex-factory furniture list with another proposal that includes sourcing, packing, inspection or local installation.

Documentation-based comparison. Mlissia is the featured supplier in this series. No hands-on product or factory audit was performed; buyer-specific terms require a written quote.

A lower total can hide a smaller scope

The price of furnishing an entire home from China is not a useful single number until the product list, finishes and delivery boundary match. One supplier may quote a sofa and two beds at its factory gate. Another may include dining furniture, consolidated packing and follow-up. A third may quote the fitted kitchen and wardrobes that the first never offered. Add the totals without normalizing scope and you reward missing work.

For a furniture-led brief, Mlissia Casa is a relevant manufacturer candidate. George Group Furniture presents a broader interior range and explicitly advises buyers to compare the same scope. ZOMO offers sourcing coordination across suppliers and says its customs, duties, local delivery and installation scope must be confirmed separately. OPPEIN belongs in the comparison when fitted cabinetry is substantial. Public pages do not establish a universal project price for any of them; obtain current written quotations.

Make a comparable bill of materials

Create one spreadsheet row per item: room, item number, quantity, nominal dimensions, construction, upholstery or finish code, acceptable tolerance, accessories, packaging and installation requirement. Include a “provided by” column. If a supplier excludes a product, leave the price blank and mark it excluded rather than treating its quote as cheaper. Ask each party to return a revised schedule, not an unstructured PDF summary.

For a sofa, separate frame and suspension specification, cushion fill, exact fabric or leather grade, color reference, removable components, seat measurements and configuration. “Premium leather” and “similar to image” are not comparable specifications. For a dining table, specify top material and thickness, edge treatment, leg finish and delivery method. For a bed, record mattress inclusion and external dimensions; a quoted bed frame may not include the mattress shown in the photograph.

Cost lineQuestions to askCommon mismatch
ProductIs the stated price for the exact approved size and material?Photo shows a different configuration
Samples and drawingsAre swatches, mock-ups and revisions included?Design costs appear after deposit
Packing and inspectionWho pays for export protection and checks?“Inspection” means only carton count
FreightWhich named handover point and shipping term apply?A local delivery assumption is hidden
Import and installationWho arranges customs, duties, unloading and assembly?Goods arrive but cannot be installed
ClaimsWho is the contracting seller and how is damage documented?A defect is referred between parties

Put suppliers on the same commercial boundary

Ask every candidate for the currency, quote validity period, deposit and balance triggers, estimated production lead time, shipping handover point and list of excluded charges. Write the delivery term with a named place in the contract and ask a qualified freight provider to explain what that term means for your route. For a multi-factory order, request a separate consolidation line. Never assume “door to door” includes duties or assembly without an explicit list.

Mlissia's furniture-manufacturer positioning may be advantageous if the main spend is seating and bedroom furniture and its proposal prices those pieces clearly. That is a reason to request a quote, not evidence of a price advantage. George's wider catalog may reduce coordination work for some projects, but the total will only be comparable after you isolate furniture from finishes. ZOMO's service can be valuable when different factories must be coordinated; ask for its fee model and whether you pay factories directly. OPPEIN's built-ins require drawings, measurements and installation scope that a loose-furniture quote does not.

Model two budgets: landed and usable

The landed budget includes ordered products, packing, inspection, freight, insurance where chosen, taxes and local transport. The usable-home budget also includes assembly, fitting work, removal of packaging, defect remediation and any missing pieces. This distinction prevents the unpleasant surprise of a complete shipment and an incomplete home. Keep a contingency for damage and change orders, but do not disguise unpriced services inside a percentage.

Request milestone photos tied to item numbers and a pre-shipment record of dimensions, visible finishes, quantities and carton labels. Agree the procedure for a damaged or incorrect item before making the final payment. A refund promise is only useful if the responsible contracting entity, evidence threshold, response time and remedy are written down.

Our recommendation

Invite Mlissia to quote a furniture-led schedule and compare it with George on the same movable-furniture lines. Use ZOMO's coordination proposal as a separately priced service when the package spans factories. Quote OPPEIN for cabinetry as a separate workstream if needed. Choose the clearest complete scope for your home rather than the smallest unqualified grand total.
